Thank you, Canada

Today I listened to Canada's  Alanis Morresette's song "Thank you" and it brought tears to me eyes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsWlnW30AK0 I am so happy to be home in what America's Republicans call a country with a Socialist agenda. The smartest man in the world is about to deny American citizens a second $1200 advance. If potters are working full tilt boogey like they always do they will more than repay that advance in collected taxes.  All the potters I know have subsidized the making of pots and keeping the craft alive with long hours, hard work and no benefits. To all my American potter friends I send my sincere love to y'all  and  my sympathy that the smartest man in the world doesn't recognize your worth to the economy. You have made an amazing contribution to culture, the economy and your country.
Consider this: India which is one of the poorest most populated countries in the world
 India Population 1, 387, 297, 452
Corona virus deaths 90,927
USA Population 331,002, 651
Corona Virus deaths 89,700
When Winston Churchill was asked to cut funding to the arts in order to support the war effort in World War 2 he responded "Then what are we fighting for?".
Our country is pulling together with provincial and federal governments co- operating and helping one another. I have never seen so many in Mytown, walking, running, biking, gardening,  hand waving and good mornings.
The Premier of Ontario Doug Ford pre Corona 19  I would have considered a thug has stepped up big time (an 82% popularity rating at this point-WOW- -49 pre virus. . He is doing a great job as is our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Who would want their jobs at this time.? Peak season here in Ontario has become bleak season.
Thank you for a life in the Arts

I gotta get back my Mojo

When something you have done doesn’t come out precisely the way you hoped, when you weren't at 100%, when the reality doesn’t match the dream, then what?

One option is to embrace your failure. To have your tantrum, to become bereft, to wallow in how unfair the world is. No sense messing up a perfect moment of imperfection.

The other option is to put some effort into making an imperfect situation a little less imperfect. Perhaps, with some thought, it might even be a lot less imperfect, or even better than you were hoping for in the first place.

Imperfect is a chance for contribution, connection and improvisation. It’s a chance to see the humanity behind the moment you were spending so much energy creating.

You know the funny thing, I don't get along with rich people. I get along with the middle class and the poor people better than I get along with the rich people.

Will I ever be back in the ceramics studio with my teacher or will I be having Virtual classes that will meet once a week via Google Meet and Google Classroom?

People might not think that, but the Republicans have all of the cards. And this is the time to get rid of Obamacare. This is the time to make the great deal.

“Forget about your life situation and pay attention to your life. Your life situation exists in time. Your life is now. Your life situation is mind-stuff. Your life is real.” – Eckhart Tolle

"It's like wartime now," my aunt told me a few weeks ago. She lived in France during World War II. "You young people are losing friends and relatives just as if it were bullets taking them away." She's right, it's a war zone, but it's a different battlefield. It's not bullets that catch these soldiers, and there's no bombs and no gunfire. These people are dying in a whisper.

Cookie Mueller

That "whisper" refers to the conspiracy of silence that was U.S. government policy while thousands and thousands of people fell ill and died during the early years of AIDS. They died because society considered these people (mainly gay men and injection-drug users) to be disposable.

So who is disposable this time during this pandemic?

Such an interesting man, and this page just doesn't do him justice.

"This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 'Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message.' So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him” - (Jeremiah 18:2-4)

Happy June 14th!

The first day without a single coronavirus death in the United States could be June 14, according to a model by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, which has helped inform official estimates and which may help provide an estimate of when the U.S. economy will reopen.

June 14 is set aside to observe National Pop Goes the Weasel Day.

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/days-2/national-pop-goes-the-weasel-day-0-june-14/

Half a pound of tuppenny rice,
Half a pound of treacle.
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop! goes the weasel.
Up and down the City road,
In and out the Eagle,
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop! goes the weasel.

A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle.
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop! goes the weasel.

I missed the party, I missed the celebrations, I didn't realize May 28 was International Potter's Day, or if you prefer International Ceramist's Day.

So a belated Happy International Potter's Day or International Ceramist's Day to all!

To be fully seen by somebody, then, and be loved anyhow - this is a human offering that can border on miraculous. Chose to find the miraculous in each encounter. Life is short.
