Covid's Traffic Lights

I opened a box of 3 porcelain wood fired vazzzzes the other day and much to my delight these three beauties emerged.
I think it fitting that they came together at this time of Covid 19. I am considering the three as a single piece. The red one is for March when we shut down everything and I made a bee line for the border and two weeks of quarantine.
Red was for STOP which meant social distancing, restaurants, bars, barber shops and all non essential businesses closed up tight.  Our borders both nationally and provincially were locked down. The Smartest Man in the World ignored this red alert from medical professionals and now has the richest country in the world as the #1 hot spot for the virus worldwide.
Yellow is for CAUTION.  Slow down and proceed with caution. We in Ontario are just opening up with restaurants allowed to have patios with tables 2 metres apart. Servers are wearing face shields, tables are cleansed after each sitting, menus are one use only and a whole bunch of other protocol measures. I got my hair cut this week. You text from the parking lot, wear a mask and door knobs, chairs etc, etc are sanitized before and after your haircut. My hairdresser has a beautiful smile which I missed seeing.
GREEN for go which I'm not quite ready for. We only need to look south of the border to see what early opening of the economy has done. We belong to a society not a economy.  Interestingly the Korean celadon vazzze has a series of x's on it. That means niX green light on opening up the borders and the economy.
My heart is in my hand for my American potter buddies. Here in Canada we have been given $2000 a month from March until August. That is $12,000 compared with $1200 in the US the richest country in the world. We also have national Health Insurance. People aren't saving that money, they are spending it and helping keep our economy afloat. Some call it Socialism we call it CARING!
The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it. Henry David Thoreau.
So here's the question I leave you with- how much is your life worth?
Be well, be safe, be a good neighbour.

I'm selling Covid Traffic Lights as a single piece $750 CDN.

Really great posting. Indeed how much are our lives worth? Not much if you believe "the smartest man in the world" but when you have no compassion or empathy and the desire only for the top $$$ % I guess that is what we get. So many of us here in the US are shell shocked I think, I know I am. This is all so hard to comprehend and live through, you are so lucky to live in Canada.

Is Trump really that incompetent, or is he just truly evil and self-centered, or just a bit of both? Well his campaign promise of Make America Great Again has really tanked. I sure hope that they can find a new leader to help dig the country out of this tragedy.

Donald Trump's re-election campaign has a new "America First" logo — and it looks a lot like the Nazi eagle used by Adolf Hitler and modern white supremacist groups.

Do you need to know anything more?

"Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times"

"Hong Kong independence"

Fight for democracy in Hong Kong.

The new law punishes crimes of secession, subversion, terrorism and collusion with foreign forces with up to life in prison. It will also see mainland security agencies in Hong Kong for the first time and allows extradition to the mainland for trial in courts controlled by the Communist Party.

No one stops for amber, they put their foot on the accelerator and run the red light,
that's why bars and beaches are packed with 20 somethings, and why the virus is getting passed around so much.

An important message to all you follicle challenged men out there.

Balding Men Would Rub Chicken Poop On Their Head
History has a lot of strange medical remedies but none as weird as using chicken feces to cure baldness. A 17th-century medical book titled “The Path-Way To Health” advised men to mix chicken manure (known back then as Culver-dung) with Lye and wash their scalps with it.

We’re not so sure about the chicken dung but considering the fact Lye is a poisonous alkaline solution, we doubt any hair was growing back with that remedy.

Good luck growing back that Luscious head of that drives the chicks wild!

May be Donald Trump was on to something? He certainly has some truly brilliant ideas about how to end the current corona virus pandemic.

Lysol Was Originally A Feminine Hygiene Product
Yes, we’re talking about the same Lysol that you probably use as a kitchen cleaner and that kills 99.99% of germs. Lysol was first invented in 1889 and became a popular disinfectant during the 1918 Spanish flu outbreak.

For some reason, Lysol tried to re-brand in the 1920s to become a feminine hygiene product. It was advertised as both a cleaning agent for women and as a birth control agent. It was later discouraged by the medical community because it was too strong of a disinfectant.

Thank you Mary Trump!

Harsh portrait of Trump family written by president's niece to be published early.

“Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," which paints a harsh portrait of Trump and his family's history.

“The act by a sitting president to muzzle a private citizen is just the latest in a series of disturbing behaviors which have already destabilized a fractured nation in the face of a global pandemic," Chris Bastardi said. "If Mary cannot comment, one can only help but wonder: what is Donald Trump so afraid of?”

the book “shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security, and social fabric.”

Can't wait!

CCW has been in operation for over 20 years offering the highest caliber of ceramic education and experiences to thousands of ceramic artists throughout the US. Our unique facility supports a thriving community of ceramic artists that will sadly be in danger of dissolution if CCW cannot recover from the financial crisis of Covid-19. Having been closed for the past four months, we are slowly reopening with the greatest concern for our fellow potters' safety and well being. However, financial debts continue to built up, and coupled with declining expectations for quick economic recovery, there is significant concern for staying afloat and holding onto our building and facilities without asking for financial contributions.
