The Ordinary

The Ordinary bores me- an ordinary home, an ordinary pot, an ordinary painting, an ordinary life. SHADOW BLESSINGS "Life is a vast and intricate conspiracy that's guaranteed to keep you well supplied with blessings. What kind of blessings? Ten million dollars,a gorgeous physique,a perfect marriage,a luxurious home, and high status? Maybe. But it's just as likely that the blessings will be interesting surprises, dizzying adventures, gifts you hardly know what to do with, and conundrums that dare you to get smarter." -Rob Breszneys Astrological Newsletter I'm a big fan of Rob Breszney's writing and I've had so many things happen in my life that I can't explain. I always think The Universe has hold of the steering wheel of my life. Nope to the money, nope to the physique, nope to the marriage, nope to the luxurious house and high status as a potter-nope! But that said I have had an extra ordinary life. I've done it by not being ordinary. Most people buy ordinary. I don't make pots for them. I make for a few people but there are thankfully enough of these people to keep me being me. “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” -Banksy. Banksy is my favourite contemporary artist. His work is political, it is thoughful, it is daring and I love that it is street Art.
Here is one of my bacon dishes wood fired for 100 hours in the kiln of Seagroves Ben Owen. Ben is one of the best- generous, particular and of course an amazing potter. Is it an ordinary pot??? One of the highest complements I ever got from a customer was "Your pottery doesn't look like pottery!"

cats are actually an “invasive alien species.”

They’ve classified cats as invasive due to how damaging they can be to certain ecosystems. That damage is caused by their desire to hunt.

I could live with failure. I had and would. But ORDINARY? Not a fucking chance.

In a world of the ordinary and predictable, be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
