Swampcroft to Pinecroft

All my life's a circle sunrise and sundown. Home after 2 months in The Deep South at Brian Nettles Pottery in Pass Christian, Mississippi- Swampcroft. I'm home at Pinecroft where the mud path all started. The ghosts of my Uncle Jimmie and Aunt Cavvy rest on my shoulders almost everywhere I go. Tomorrow the restaurant "The Green Frog Tearoom" opens to a predicted snow storm. I'm going anyways even if I have to ride my fat bike in the snow. It's called "showing up!"
I can't thank Brian and Rhonda Nettles enough for their Southern hospitality and yes a few belly laughs. I felt welcome, appreciated and loved. It's always nice to get home to familiarity, your own bed and the creature comforts of your rabbits warren. I'm going to take a few days off before heading to the studio on Monday.
This is the commute from the restaurant to the studio. Life is a grind.
These past months were amazing. What was so amazing for me was a chapter in my life called "Authenticity". Be who you say you are. Life is not a photo op. It is hard work. I love the work!!!

We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.

Don't let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It's your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don't let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality — not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others' prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now. You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure.

COSTI is partnering with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and other community organizations to provide services for Ukrainian newcomers fleeing the conflict in their country. The majority are single women with children who are vulnerable and need assistance with immediate accommodation and settlement-related services including mental health and employment.

Courts and politicians have failed us, but people everywhere are working to make sure abortion stays accessible. SYA is building and strengthening our connections all over the country, sharing life-saving info, and cultivating a mass culture of defiance. Abortion access as a community responsibility, and each of us need to find a way to contribute.
