Motown, T- town and Low a ville!
I gotta tell ya that cold ain't hot! I left this morning for Georgia amidst a white out on ice covered roads. There were jack knifed trucks, cars rolled over and the main artery the 401 was closed due to an accident. I crossed the Ambassador Bridge into Motown and left the carnage of winter behind me. Canada love it or leave it! Over the bridge I saw the steel mills, the heavy industry and the great street art. Some people like waterfalls, mountain tops and winding rivers. I actually like to see work happening. America at work brings a warm feeling to me. I love the big rigs passing me and I dream of driving a Western Star. That is my preferred rig over the Volvo's, Peterbuilts and Freightliners. I thought of Gary and his Motown anagama and of Lee. Big industry all the way to T-town- Holy Toledo! I wish I had time to drop in on Kelly. Listened to Robert Earl Keene barreling thru Ohio. I thought of Dennis who introduced his music to me. Down into Kentucky where I thought of Lindsay as I passed Louisville. Pronounced by her as a native of Kentucky- Low a ville! I reluctantly passed The Bourbon Trail and ended up in Berea, Kentucky for the night. I checked in and went out for dinner. HOLY SHIT it is a dry town. Not a drop of alcohol to be had. Pepsi products with your steak!!!!!!!! I didn't think such a place existed in the civilized world. It does and I will pass it by the next trip or at least come packin'.
