Potter's Grog
Here is a pic of my favourite bowl for my morning grog- All Bran, walnuts and berries in season. Warning! Don't go for your morning walk for at least 45 minutes. I actually like getting up in the morning knowing I can enjoy my grog from this bowl of my former student Andrew Kellner. I was out in the workshop tonight trimming these bowls and I thought hmm what came first the chicken or the egg? I have made the undulated rim and put a bump in the bowl for some time but that line inside the bowl is something I think I picked up from Andrew. Or maybe I did it a long time ago and he stole it from me. Ya that must be the case!!! That little line where the glaze breaks is all I need to frame my grog.
Andrew's bowls are really nice for grog or soup. They are made to function. Mine are flatter like plates and I turn them into apples and hang them on the wall. The younguns' will catch on that there is more money to be made in the living room than the kitchen. That said thank God some people make really nice understated functional pots.
