Lunch with a Cover Girl

Let's change that to Cover Woman although it kinda looses it's Playboy appeal.
Naomi Clement came to The Cactus Lounge yesterday for lunch. Naomi is yet another Canadian that went south of 49 to take her MFA in Ceramics at Louisiana State University. Welcome home Naomi! That is a sentiment I often get at Customs when I return to Canada- Welcome Home!

With very few exceptions many of Canada's best artists must be recognized in the US before acceptance by their own country. Actors to LA or NYC and musicians to Nashville or Memphis.
Potters go to Star, NC the cultural capital of wild clay.
Naomi came over to get reacquainted with what is going on here in The Promised Land. If you are a a reader of my blog and belong to a potters group consider contacting Naomi for a workshop or lecture. She has done all the right things- BFA, MFA,  residencies, adjunct teaching, and studio pottery. She is a hand builder with a nice touch at surface decoration.
