I bought an island
The pottery business must be good to buy an island!” I work hard. I
work every day and sometimes I reward myself for the effort. I ordered
this island custom made for The Cactus Lounge. It has a hardwood chopping block
for my veggies and Amish bread and a stainless steel side for Uncle Donny and
Aunt Nancy’s meat. A friend can sit
there on the red chairs with black leather
seats and enjoy watching me doing mans work- cooking and the dishes.
It’s Friday
night and I thought I deserved a good shot of 100% agave Tequilla. While at the
checkout I saw these wee bottles of Freixnet and I thought I might like a small
flute of Champagne ( I know it’s not real Champagne) with my dinner to
celebrate life. I also know they are not
flutes but burgundy glasses.
I’m only doing this for medicinal purposes you
understand or in the case of a snake bite. Like red and white wine champagne is
good for you. It lowers the risk of
heart disease and strokes. “Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of
snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake.” _W.C. Fields
I’ve had a
good week. A new studio mate, my first drawing class, I bought an island, I
accomplished a lot in the studio, and today I gave my Rose of Sharon a big
haircut, cut the lawn and get this I wet mopped my half of the studio. I was
shamed into doing this. I also finished “A Gentleman in Moscow” a book recommended to me
by Hester Meyers. I almost got up at 3am this morning to finish it. It is a
wonderful book full of humour, history, friendship and philosophy. Boy that
pretty well sums up my life. This book is the most wonderful tale of friendship and love. Maybe one of the best books I've ever read. Bottoms up!
