Nose Rockets
Nose Rockets
I thought I’d show you a couple of pics of lunch here at the studio. The food has been great and this is not the best spread we’ve been served. You get a look at the scrambled eggs and tomatoes and you can see the beans and gravy weren’t a big hit. Trevor and I bought too many bananas so we took them into the ladies in the kitchen and they made Wok fried French fries and bananas for lunch. Well, let’s put it this way if you haven’t had a fry for a month they go down pretty well. Table manners here are something to get used to and depending on who you sit with they may spit on the table beside you or let a nose rocket go on the floor. Slurping and putting your bowl up to your mouth and shoveling it in is perfectly acceptable. My room mate Trevor and I are hoping our wives cut us some slack at Christmas dinner when we pile the bones on the table cloth, reach across and fork a piece of meat off their plates and let a nose rocket go on the freshly waxed hardwood floor. There is going to be a cultural reversal on our return.
Lee Love asked about creativity. Here are two of the Chinese grad students
(Nong Bang Men and Zhang Ju Fong) working on some pieces. Their latest work is even better. They are both very creative and delightful people. They have been renamed Bennie and Marilyn.
